Police. Always getting in the way of business. Naomi Parker drove down the street in a rental truck, camera in hand, following these men before her. It was an odd party. One was a fox-man, another a lizard-man, and the other a man-man. Those three races tended to stay away from each other, but apparently it was an off day for racism.
"Gotta love equality," she said to herself as she drove. Whoever these people were, she didn't want the police to catch them. If they were truly up to criminal activities, she could eventually turn them in herself. It could rake in some nice profit. Even if they weren't wanted criminals, she could easily get a job from one of them. Everyone needed a freelancer.
Seeing them dart into an alleyway, Naomi swerved around the corner and stopped at the end of the alleyway in front of the three runaways.
"Hop in, fellas!" she shouted over to them with a playful grin on her face. "But not you, lizard-man. Get in the back. You're too enormous to call shotgun. You can all thank me later. I may be a woman, but I'm a hell of a driver. Not even those cops can catch a girl like me."

About Me
I am a writer. Yes, a wannabe writer.
I am also a guitarist. Yes, a wannabe guitarist.
I am also a ladies-man. No, not a wannabe ladies-man. A professional ladies-man.
That is essentially all you have to know about me. Sure, if you wish to find a more in-depth analysis of my true self, you'll just have to read my posts and have a chat with me on MSN, but that's not for the faint of heart. The new number one cause of death is me. Remember that.

This is an interesting portrait of paranoia. I enjoyed the briefness of this and really like the repetition you had with "they hated him, after all." In order to strengthen this, however, I think you need to add more characters other than Blaze. The whole group that he is with is characterized as a whole, but maybe splitting them up into different personalities would help lengthen and strengthen this story. Just my opinion, at least. It could roll fine as it is. Interesting story, I enjoyed it!

The woman at the front desk looked at Dan curiously. A phone call? How strange. Not asking any questions, she slowly took the phone out of his hands and put it up to her ear to hear.
"Hi," came a voice on the other end. "I'm Jack."
"Jack?" she asked. "I'm sorry, Jack, but I'm going to have to let you go. If you want to speak with the manager--"
"I don't want to speak with the manager, sweetheart," Jack said. "I want to speak to you. Now please, listen up. You see that man standing in front of you? That scared man? Well, it so happens that I'm currently holding a gun to his daughter's head."
The woman was silent. She could hardly believe what she was hearing. The man in front of her certainly looked scared. Was this real? Was this some sort of prank? Even so, would it be worth the risk just to hang up and pretend this never happened?"
"Now, if you don't want to hear about little Molly here showing up on the news with her brains blown all over the sidewalk, you're going to follow my directions," Jack said. "You're going to get a bag and fill it up with cash. Get everything that you have on hand. Put it in that bag and give it to that man. That man is going to take the money to me, and I will set his daughter free. Do you understand?"
"Um," the woman said. "Um."
"Good, good," Jack said, laughing a bit. "Now hurry up. I don't have all day. Molly certainly doesn't either. Isn't that right, Molly?"
The phone call ended. Jack hung up on her. The woman stood there, stupefied, and handed the phone back to Dan. Without thinking twice, she grabbed a plastic bag and filled it with money from all of the registers. There was a large amount of discord and uproar, as one would expect, and it was likely that someone would call the cops soon. Before any alarms were going off, however, the lady had a bunch of money in the bag and handed it to the man.
"Please, take it all," she said, a bit frantic. "Good luck. Good luck, sir, I pray that she is okay... Get out of here before the police arrive. Hurry!"

I have played a bit of it, but I've mostly only played the first one. So difficult, but so satisfying. Heard the third one sucked, though. What a pity.
