Hey. In addition to being a writer, I'm also a visual artist and I'm looking for some way to improve my versatility with poses and drawing different kinds of humans/beings. If you have created a character on RPGF and need some way to express their appearance visually, I'll whip up a sketch of them according to your specifications. There is no cost for these, but in exchange you'll need to give me some time to come up with them. I would like to use your requests as practice for strengthening my ability with character designs, nothing more. The only profit I'll gain is experience.

You can give me a description of your character (what you used to register them would be best) so I know the context that they're being used in and use the information accordingly.

Here is what a "commission" entails:

-A pencil sketch of one character of your choice, with a thorough description provided by you. If you would like a less 'sketchy' appearance, I can provide line art. Either or, it will be in black and white. This costs nothing, but I require some time to complete it.

-After the sketch/line art is completed, I will scan it into my computer and save it as a .jpeg file. I can send the finished picture to you over a private message.

-You may add color to the picture at your leisure and use it to enhance your character description or profile. I would prefer it if you didn't post my artwork anywhere else.

-You must keep my signature on the piece. Do not edit it out.

-I will not draw anything lewd or perverse.

Here are my strengths and weaknesses:

Keep in mind I am still a rather amateur artist. I am by no means professional. However...

-I am the strongest at drawing humans. This includes regular humans, elves with pointy ears, etc. If your character is human-like in appearance, I will most likely be able to produce it easily.

-I am fairly proficient at human beings with animal features, including extra horns, tails, etc.

-I have difficulty drawing anthropomorphic beings. However, I will use a reference when doing so and draw the character to the best of my ability.

-My style leans more towards cartoony, but I can also adopt a more realistic style to suit your preferences.

Send me a private message if you would like to see a sample of my work before "commissioning" me.

How's about drawing Sentinel from BG then? Posed like a traditional suit of armor would be, except with wings and a face!

Could you make a sketch of Kazuki from Shades of Grey? It would be quite epic. Here's a link to his character profile.

Could you do Captain Alexander from AtS? Here's a description (which I would prefer not to have appended to the picture).

I imagine Alex as being about 5'11'' with an athletic build. Black, messy hair. Wears goggles, either on his eyes or up in his hair. No hat. Relatively handsome; some scars on his face as a result of various fights or accidents. Wears steampunkish clothing; a trenchcoat or greatcoat would suffice. Wears black gloves and boots. Clothing is somewhat stylish, but does not impede practicality. Sparkblade (looks like a wireframe cutlass) and blaster-revolver (sci-fi revolver, really) by his side. Large number of pockets.

I'll take these four characters as a first "batch". The time to submit commissions is over until they're done. I have a few questions for each of you before I get started.

Lyon:

What kind of build does the Sentinel have? I looked up his description and found it rather lacking (no offense intended, of course--it was just rather short). Is the Sentinel like a warrior, or is its outfit more on the elegant side? If you gave me that to work with, I'd have an easier time with it.

Shooter:

Just to clarify, Trilon's a cowboy puppet master? His outfit seems straightforward enough. My only issue is if he wears a shirt underneath the vest.

Chef:

Your character description was pretty straightforward too. I'm only looking for specifics (which you might find trivial, but hey). Is the scarf Kazuki wears a winter scarf, or of some other variety? I also need to know whether his bathrobe is open or closed.

Red:

This is a good description. I should be able to work with it. Thanks for submitting, so now I can get to work!

He can wear a shirt, but he doesn't have to. If he did, then it would likely be a plain white one. (yes, he's a cowboy puppet master XD )

Sentinel would have an average kind of build, neither bulky nor slender. His costume is more on the elegant side: a fairly nice set of flowing robes (which don't actually flow, since Sentinel is made out of metal). Thanks!

Much respect to another artist that wants to brush up their talents. No request from me though, lol, I already draw my own... =P

@8-bit
The scarf doesn't have a design on it (I believe it's actualy a solid red) and the bathrobe is open.

Haha, I'm not sick. But thanks for your concern, Red. ^_^  I've just been a bit swamped. My grades are mucking around in the not-so-hot range for now, and I'm working with my teachers to sort things out. I've also had projects and get togethers and everything. I'm sorry for the massive delay, which is one of the reasons I'm not charging for these.

So how are these all going? I'm rather curious about them, and keen to see the results once they've been done. :)
