Dear Members,

As some of you may be aware, RPGF relies on donations to function. Without a source of income, this site cannot maintain its present level of service.

We understand that many individuals have reservations about Internet commerce and respect the desire of donors or potential donors to know how and where their money is being spent. Accordingly, this is an explanation of RPGF's accounting process.

RPGF's PayPal account is administered by Nowe, who owns the site and acts as its treasurer. RPGF's account is separate from his personal finances and the site is run as a not-for-profit organization (though we have no official status). Though RPGF is unable to determine what the future holds, and unexpected expenses may arise, our expenditures are usually limited to hosting at HostGator (US$9.95 a month), a Pro Photobucket account for image hosting (US$2.99 a month), our board license (US$25.00 every six months), and the maintenance of the domain name "rpgfrontier.net" (US$16.99 each year). Altogether that's roughly US$230 each year. Mods and add-ons may also be purchased with site money, but only if two administrators agree to turn the issue over to a public vote and the aforementioned vote approves the purchase.

We are prepared to present proof that money is not being mis-spent (PayPal screenshots), and all transactions involving RPGF (as well as the account's current balance and upcoming routine expenses) are written down in a publicly viewable budget topic. Furthermore, we will grant return requests in cases of wrongdoing, dishonest activity, or mistakes. Paypal gives us none of your personal information except for your name, and we will sell or give away no information to any third party unless required to do so by law. Donors may request anonymity; we will abide by these requests. Finally, if so requested, you may mark your donation as "Essentials Only" either within PayPal or by mentioning this to Nowe or Redcoat; this means that RPG Frontier will not spend your money on mods or addons.

Paypal can be sucky like that at times. :-/

I'm glad that my hosting provider accepts direct debit card payments, because I've since found it a lot easier to use that as opposed to Paypal. But anyhow, --sent--.
