Personally, my top 10 would have to be (in no real particular order):
-Elvis Presley
-Billy Joel
-Johnny Cash
-Daft Punk
-Simon & Garfunkel
-The Beatles
-Queen
-Regina Spektor
-A pinch of Aerosmith when I'm in the right mood, along with some other random bands like Sugarloaf and Cheap Trick
-And Koji Kondo, composer of the soundtracks to such games as Zelda WW and Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2.
So tell me, forumites... Who's on YOUR music player of choice?

Alright, here's what I like to listen to:
- The Black Keys -- These guys are awesome. Possibly my favorite indie rock group, as they sound very unique.
- The Doors -- This is my favorite classic rock band. Everything about them is awesome. Especially Jim Morrison.
- The Flaming Lips -- I really like these guys because they are incredibly unique and continue to create music that is awesome, despite how old they may be.
- Surfjan Stevens -- This is probably my favorite solo act. He's not incredibly well known, but as far as I've seen he's a genius when it comes to writing music. Definitely worth giving a try.
- Ennio Morricone -- He composes the music to many movies, and has been doing it for a very long time. His music is awesome. Just look at The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
- Yoko Kanno -- She composed the music for Cowboy Bebop. 'Nuff said.

Daft Punk - Made an excellent soundtrack for Tron (Good god, Derezzed) and has it's own classics (Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger)
Deadmau5 - Really good House artist. Has made some very, very good songs, and I can't say I don't admire his work. Oh and I have reason to believe he's a brony. x3
Lapfox Trax - Not exactly an artist in the usual sense. It's actually one artist under a multitude of different personas. Not only that, but he creates the widest variety of music I've seen. Also believed to be a brony.
Rchetype - A Drum n' Bass artist I stumbled upon; just ask Pyth how good this guy is. He doesn't even like electronic music and he likes this guy.
Syrsa - Has made an entire universe, and I'm not sure whether it's based around the music, or if the music's based around it. Also makes some awesome TF2 remixes.
Pendulum - Oh my god, Pendulum. It only took me listening to Slam and Propane Nightmares to fall in love with them.
Skrillex - Yes, I did just put him on this list. What? He's a good artist. Also I really liked With You, Friends (Long Drive).
Queen - Can't ignore the classics baby.
The Beatles - How couldn't I? They're the bloody Beatles.
Linkin Park - Before you strangle me for bringing them up, I've liked their music for awhile now, and am interested to see where they go next.
Martin O'Donnell - Halo Soundtrack. What better reason could you need?
Hans Zimmer - Inception, The Lion King, The Thin Red Line, Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor, The Dark Knight, Crimson Tide, and even Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. This man is music's Chuck Norris.

Nightwish, Dragon Force, Blind Guardian, Breaking Benjamin (yes, still), anything by Mozart, Dvorak, Chopin, and several other classical artists. Mainly performances by the London Symphony Orchestra and the LA Philharmonic and such.

- The Stranglers: Made my favourite album of all time (Rattus Norvegicus), sadly they are incredibly underrated. Isn't really a definitive genre, they pretty much have their own sound (They're kinda punk/rock).
- Joy Division: One of my other favourite albums, Unknown Pleasures is post-punk era music, has slow epic albums and is headed by the brilliant Ian Curtis. Sadly he offed himself and they became some techno-hippie band "New Order"
- Johnny Cash: Because he's just all kinds of awesome
- Bob Dylan: A true poet and awesome in equal measure as Cash
- Rammstein: More of a hard metal group, with some orchestral stuff mixed in makes some really atmospheric tracks, and with every song having a meaning/moral/point behind it, really lets you enjoy listening again and again. A love/hate thing about them is that they are German and of course sing in that language. While I have to google translate most of the lyrics, they totally suit metal. Oh and Till Lindemann is epic. EDIT: Sadly they're banned from Scotland because of a disagreement with a fire safety guy because of all the pyrotechnics they use in their live gigs, so if I wanna see them I'm gonna have to go abroad
- Most of the soundtrack stuff above (Hanz Zimmer, Howard Shore)
- Led Zeppelin: Because everyone in that band is far above average: Good bassist, Great vocalist and LEGENDARY Drummer and Guitarists. Seriously, those two are the best.
- The Clash: Epic punk band of outstanding caliber (U2's Bono, when accepting the 'best band for 25 years' award: "If The Clash were still here we'd be carrying their stuff")
- Dropkick Murphys: Epic Celtic-Themed Punk metal, nuff said
- The Who: Great rock tracks and has such awesome drummer that parallels Zeppelins' John Bonham.
Didn't put in the Beatles 'cos they're bad.

Taylor Swift: Don't judge me, I love her voice, and her songs.
Nickelback: I really like their music, though I do believe they are a bit over-rated.
Journey: I grew up listening to Journey, and up until recently they were at the top of the list, I still love 'em though.
Eminem: Pretty much the only rap I listen to, I prefer his new stuff though.
U2: Another I grew up listening to, and they are an amazing band.
Linkin Park: Transformer movies introduced me to Linkin Park, since then they've become one of my favorite bands.
Avril Lavigne: I like her punk-rock style, and her voice.
Avenged Sevenfold: They are awesome, to say the least. I normally don't like long songs, but they have won me over.
Within Temptation: I don't listen to them enough for them to be higher up on the list, but they are ony my favorites.
Breaking Benjamin: Only started to listen to them recently, but what I've heard so far is awesome.
Other that almost made into the top ten: Kelly Clarkson, Basshunter, Katy Perry, Cascada, Evanescence, Snow Patrol, Skillet, Sick Puppies, Paramore, Nightwish, and My Darkest Days.

Disturbed- This is my absolute favorite band, due to their epic riffs, awesome (sometimes psychotic) vocals, and general 'winning'-ness.
Metallica- I think we all know why a headbanger would love Metallica... Metal=Metallica.
Three Days Grace- TDG is one of my very faves due to their addicting music and their relatable-no-matter-who-you-are lyrics.
Breaking Benjamin- These guys are actually my favorite band of all time, but I'm going on a Disturbed binge, so... I love this band because of three things. 1... The captivating singing/lyrics. 2... The guitar, the FRICKIN guitar! 3... They have a dark way about their music that is pretty hard to describe.
Five Finger Death Punch- 5FDP is very much like Disturbed in my opinion, but more like classic/hard metal. Their riffs are more visceral and their drums are more 'thumpathumpthump', if you know what I'm sayin.
Godsmack- Not only are these guys EPIC, but the singer totally reminds me of Metallica.
Greenday- These guys are just too good to ignore.
Thousand Foot Krutch- They always have a pretty sweet beat as well as kickass guitars, drums, and vocals.
Linkin Park- Not sure why, but these guys are pretty darned awesome.
Seether- Seether is just really awesome, mostly because of their riffs in my opinion.
Of Honorable Mention: Skillet, Saliva, Nickelback, Hollywood Undead, Finger Eleven, Evanescence, Dream Theatre, Chevelle, Adele (undisputably an excellent singer)
Opinions?

Disturbed: All 6 of their albums currently reside on every device able to store and play music that I own. I've said that they're going go be as great as Metallica someday, and they've already got 6 albums and a decade of great history.
Skrillex: WUBWUBWUBWUBWUB -nuff said.

The M Machine - I prefer their electro-house and indie dance tracks the best, but they make a good dubstep once in a while too. My two favorite tracks from them would have to be "Promise Me A Rose Garden" and "Trafalgar."
Joe Garston - The only track I've really heard by him is The Promise, which is by far one of my top ten electro-house tracks. Absolutely amazing.
Dillon Francis - My favorite dance tracks by him are "IDGAFOS 2.0" and "Falling Up." He just has an interesting sound that flows seamlessly between beautiful melodies and great beats.
Deadmau5 - My favorite released track by him is Strobe, but that will likely be replaced by his upcoming track "The Veldt," which I spent at least half of my spring break staring mindlessly at his lives stream watching it's creation.
Madeon - The only real electro-pop producer I really listen to, I love his remix of Deadmau5's "Raise Your Weapon." I'm also quite fond of his track "Icarus."
Kaskade - I discovered as I was writing this post that I have more Kaskade tracks than I previously thought. But my number one favorite is "Eyes." One of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard.
Skrillex - One thing I fell I should mention, he is actually a
Noisestorm - I'm quite fond of the track "That Feeling." Not my favorite dubstep track, but it's up there.
Excision - You have not heard bass until you've heard his track "X Rated." Listen to it. You will not regret. I'd say he's probably the most hardcore dubstep producer in my listening range.
Example - I love his tracks "Anything" and "Midnight Run." Ironically enough, I usually listen to the latter while on an afternoon bike ride (no joke).
Flux Pavilion - His remix of "Gold Dust" by Dj Fresh is definitely in my top 10 dubstep tracks.
The Flashbulb - The only track of his(?) I listen to is "Please Don't Remember," and each time I suddenly remember why I don't listen to that kind of DnB all that often.
AND MUCH, MUCH MORE!
But that's all I'm going to bother typing for now.
