Greetings to all and sundry, good fellows of the great web. I am Jesse, otherwise known as Penblade, and I am new to this site. I have been RPing in general for a while now, but I've only been on one or two sites so far, so I thought it would be a nice change to join a new forum. This one was recomended to my Creative Writing class by a girl named Jess who already RPs here, or, I think she does... maybe.
Anyway, it's good to meet all of you. I met a few people my first night here and if everyone is as friendly and insane as they were, you won't be getting rid of me for a while.

Le suilon! Mae govannen! *
Welcome to RPGF, Mr. Bard. I hope you do enjoy your stay here. Not sure I can say I've seen your invitor (was not a word, I think. If not, it is now!).
Any questions can be directed at myself, Redcoat/Pyth, Lyon, Nowe, Archer, essentially, most of the staff should be able to answer your questions with decided ease.
Moving on. Since you seem to be already acquainted with RPing, I suggested you try out VAX, Shades of Grey (SoG, as we call it), or Wyrmslayer. Most of these aren't standard for their genres (Sci-Fi for VAX and SoG, Fantasy for Wyrmslayer), or are happening in a world that is non-standard.
If you're looking for something familiar, or you just want to get started comfortably, I suggest Legend of Starblade (LoS, as we know it). It's more or less a standard fantasy.
None to sure about the other RPs. Similarly, another good palce to get into the swing of things, or just from a break from "normal" RPing is the arena. Most of these are short RPs and do not require you to fill out a "sheet" for characters. Of course, you might also be more familiar with this type of RP.
*Le suilon = I greet thee. Mae govannen = Well met. Sindarin Elvish from LoTR.

Greetings, Penblade, and welcome to the Frontier. I'm Redcoat, also known as Pyth and Reccadoat (don't ask), local administrator, mad political scientist, Team Mom on occasion, and fearer of all things landmine. As Vithar mentioned, I can take your questions, if you have them, about almost anything. My specialties are history, military matters (musketry onward), politics, social phenomena and Great Britain (plus her former Empire and the Commonwealth). I will, however, direct physics or engineering queries, or anything about technology, really, to Archer. Nowe (if you ever see him) or Maikuolan can take computer or web development questions. Vithar is good for all things war (pre-firearms) or Japan.
Vithar's RP recommendations are most proper. As GM of Wyrmslayer, I would like to point out that this is an opportune time for new characters to join that will last only a relatively short time. Regardless of your choice, I wish you a most excellent stay. In case it's buried in the Shoutbox by the time you get around to MSN: masterpyth [a_7] hotmail [d_0_t] com.

Do you enjoy PLAYING RPG GAMES...or just engaging in RP'ing?
Me, I'm not too good at free-form RP'ing with no real script to go by. I'm more into games myself...or if someone has an RP with a PLOT...with set plot points...then...getting from one plot point to the next etc, is something I can do...but if I have no idea what direction things are going, I am very bad at this.
But welcome!

Welcome, newcomer. I could throw out a wall of text about the Frontier and me and them and various other things, but instead I'll just point you in the direction of the Arena, where various single-thread RPs are being run, if you prefer a slower start. There's also the Frontier, if you want to jump in to a large game right away, although there may not be character openings at the moment.

Hey Penblade! I'm relatively new here too, but I definitely think you'll like it here. That Jess character you mentioned seems like a pretty cool person if she recommended you. ;P
If you like fantasy RP's, this site hosts a ton of them. There are also a handful of Sci-fi ones in the Arena that are of a smaller scale too. Poke around--the people here are really helpful. Hope to see you around the site!

Yo, welcome to the site. We're all delightfully insane here, so I'm sure that you'll find this place to be quite enjoyable. If you're interested in RPing, this is pretty much the best place to be, just sayin'. Check out the Arena section for some single topic RPs that you can jump into right away (or create on your own) if you want to test out the waters.
Have a blast, my friend.
