As I state every time, I love hearing people talk about themselves. So here's another question.
On the survey I asked who you idol was, now...I'm pretty much asking the same thing BUT I want more than their name, tell me about how you found out about this person, why they are your hero and so on. I addition to that, who is your most hated figure, since most people can say who they look up to or admire, I think people could find someone they loathe and despise if you think about it for a bit, and why do you hate them.
So let me know, I think I'll really like this one.

Norman Borlaug. I love this man and I always will, because he is, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest human beings to ever live. This is not for any petty reason. He is not an artist, an entertainer, even a politician. He's not even a monarch, though I feel a strong sense of loyalty to my country's Queen as well. No, I love this man because he saved a billion people's lives. You read that right. This man saved a billion people from dying or simply not existing. Specifically, he delivered them from starvation, one of the worst deaths imaginable, by introducing to the world widely-available GM wheat through the United Nations World Food Programme. Words cannot express the nobility of these actions. I have nothing more to explain. Read this man's Wiki entry and be in awe.
In contrast, my most hated is probably... actually, you know, I could point to lots of examples. Vidkun Quisling, for instance, who betrayed his country to the Nazis. Mao Zedong, whose bungling attempts at industrialization were catastrophic. Pol Pot, who killed people because they had glasses. Hitler, for obvious reasons. But I find it hard to feel negative emotions intensely... so, yeah.
