Hello. I am NowhereMan. I am new. I was bored and wandered here somehow. I am attempting to be sociable. I am not certain that it is working.

..........

Anyway, I'm an experienced roleplayer, I've been playing and GMing for quite a while, everything from tabletop to messenger games to forums. Have my own roleplaying site for when I feel like being an administrator and using all that lovely, delicious power.

I have a thing for nation-scale roleplaying and science fiction, though I'm not averse to fantasy (running DnD or Pathfinder professionally for a few years makes it kinda old hat for me, that's all) or modern either.

Helo, it's always nice to see a new face on the forum, I'm fairly new myself but you learn the ropes and get a grasp on things here pretty fast.  If you need anything just follow the trail of blood and broken bodies and you'll find me.

Well, thanks for the welcome. Have no idea what I'm going to end up doing here, but I'm here nonetheless. I'll probably pop on at some point tomorrow and see what I can get myself into.

Salve, Missouri-Lad! (Or NowhereMan, whatever. :)) I'm Lyon, global moderator here on RPGF, one of the many welcome wagoneers, GM of Legend of Starblade, and player of several insane characters. I assure you, I did not base their insanity off of myself. Anyway, welcome welcome welcome, and hope you enjoy your stay here.

Greetings, NowhereMan. I'm Redcoat, Evil Overlord administrator around these parts, responsible mostly for public relations bollocks and the occasional bit of maintenance when I feel like it (or the other admins shout me down for being utterly, completely, indefatigably lazy). If you have any questions, big or small, feel free to throw me a PT.

Nation-scale RPing, eh? :O I didn't think I'd ever see another natpol player come on here! Unless I'm horribly misinterpreting you, you should stop by Legacy Society some time and look at EpiCivilizations (corny name, I know, but it's kind of a reference), a nation-politic RPG set in the gunpowder age (with certain fantasy elements). As for science-fiction, I saw in the Shoutbox that you were interested in Spiritus Astrum. I've never played it (don't have much affinity for sci-fi personally, unless it's soft and Raygun-Gothic-y), but I can vouch for its quality.

Hope your stay here is most excellent.

Nation-scale is a dirty little habit of mine. I love the amount of detail you can put into one in the modern/post modern tech levels. I've worked on the details of my primary nation for a couple of years now, and I'm nowhere near done.

I can't claim to be anywhere near that dedicated. I have three main countries though; a Germano-Austro-Hungarian authoritarian regime I plan to use in the next WWII natpol, an Anglo-Japanese democratic country I reserve for postmoderns, and for fantasies (or, evidently, pre-moderns or gunpowder ones) I use a warped, Romanized version of the French Republic.

What is yours, though? Suddenly you have me interested. XD

My main is a confederacy built on a monarchic background built on a clan background originating in slave pedigree... So yes, complex. Confederacy of Welas is the official title of the nation. On a RW map, it encompasses a good bit of western Europe, but is based in Switzerland. Scottish/Germanic cultural background.

Hello NowhereMan, the name's McDanil and I..... just live here. I am currently learning the ropes while at the same time messing with Lyon's head. As to your original statement, I'm sure you'll fit in just fine. We're all sociapaths here.

SO happy hunting, and have fun.

Indeed welcome I say! Good to have a new person aboard. Care for wine? Beer? Coffee? Tea? Meh, whatever. Here's some soda and a couple of ping-pong balls. Do what you will.

Soda pong, eh?

Anyways, to finish the admin trifecta:

I,Rasputin Vithar, shall greet you now.*

Now that the pleasantries are dealt with, on to the meat. I am, as one might say, the essential back up admin. Or the one that does the stuff Pyth could do, but doesn't. Like setting up new forums for new RPs.

I also run Shades of Grey (aka SoG), a post-modern-ish, semi-cyberpunk RP based in Tokyo (oddly enough...not my idea. You'll probably find out why that statement fits.). Currently, it's still in it's infancy, and on the slightly slow side as well. I just need to do some prodding.

As for Spiritus Astrum (or SA as we call it here), it is high quality indeed. Fun to play.

Trick is**, it's run by John Archer. So, you'll probably end up running an underpowered character. It is also a very highly detailed RP.

To wit**, I think that's everything.

*Note, if you get what that line is referencing, you're awesome.

**Hey Pyth, got both tics in.

Heh.

Nah. It's a perversion of a line from the first Final Fantasy.

Outta curiosity, do you have an MSN address?

Yes, I do, but I'm not on/don't have access to it at the moment. I'll add it to my profile, though.

The sentence structure seemed familiar, but I guess I was wrong. Not a Final Fantasy fan, to be honest. I know it makes me an aberration, but I have limited interest in JRPGs.

Actually, there isn't many Final Fantasy/JRPG fans here.

Well, at least, there aren't many who've admitted being fans of such.

Which makes me among the few.

I've never played a Final Fantasy game, and I want to so bad. However, kingdom hearts is awesome. Just throwing in my to cents.

My dislike for video-game RPGs in general is pretty intense, so... XD

EDIT: Please don't burn me at the stake! It's so messy!

Burning at the stake is hardly messy. In fact, I say let's burn him now and be done with it.

No Vithar, you must Tar and Feather, Hang, Draw, Quarter, Drown, Execute, Electrocute, chop into little pieces, burn at the stake, dip in highly concentrated Sulfuric Acid, and curse Pyth with becoming a Communist Post-Modernist in Hell. By the way, you'd create Hell just to mess with him.

Since I'm here, I might as well say hello; I'm Durandal, forum Brony and Furry. I as well have some interesting in nation-scale RPs, having a few nations myself for use; however I cannot say I've used such dedication as you or Pyth have in their creation.

Maybe I'm behind topic which I'm pretty sure I am, but JRPGs are the best thing to happen to existence since the letter "Q" and Final Fantasy is the best of them all.  ALL HAIL THE LIGHT WARRIORS!
