As some of you have no doubt noticed, our forum's exquisite appearance is marred by the existence of god-awful forum read and unread icons. Well, no, that's too strong a term. They just clash horribly with our skin and wreck everything. Which I guess makes them god-awful in this instance. But no matter!

What it comes down to is that we'd really like shiny new icons. Non-defaults, in essence. And this is where you, and your friends, and their friends, and their business associates, pets, and hangers-on come in. RPGF's administration is not made up of graphics artists, but one of you poor saps might just have the experience we need.

If you've got ideas for forum icons that'd fit with the fantasy skin, or a way to get them, or you, by some miracle, have icons sitting in your hard drive which we could (ethically, legally, and with your permission) use as icons on RPGF, please post your idea, suggestion, observation, or bile-filled rant here.

I found two sets online that I liked. I liked the antique set more than the blue one, but the colors are wrong either way. We'd need something similar, to fit in with the board. Other ideas are welcome, of course.

I don't know if I prefer those; I'd like them to be in the same style as team icons, personally, and more vivid--like a book (as you were mentioning on MSN). Crossed/uncrossed swords works too, but I guess we already used swords and shields for team icons. So I'm leaning towards books (like, an open book for unread, closed book for read, etc...).

Yeah, that's what I had in mind when I found those a while back. Like a closed book for New posts, an open, blank book for read, or something like that.

Not really a bump, since this is stickied, but this is me pandering for interest. Come on, guys, have some ideas. >_>
