FRONTIER RULES

The following are the site rules, which govern all behaviour on RPGF. We aim to stick to common-sense codes of conduct. In case we have failed, any inquiries about the rules may be sent to one of the administrators via Private Thread or posted in the suggestions forum. Please remember that this board is privately owned and that the staff, as the owner's representatives, are free to enforce whatever standards they see fit at his behest. If you should come across content or behaviour that breaks these rules, please notify a staff member (or, if appropriate, the applicable GM) as soon as possible.

1. Be nice. Respect your fellow members, including the newbies, and help each other out. Respect the board and its staff. Respect equality, too, and don't discriminate against people. Assume good faith on the part of others, unless you're shown otherwise. Every rule stems from this one.

2. Don't post anything inflammatory, propagandistic, damaging, hurtful, overly gory, pornographic, or illegal per United States law. If you have questions about our content policy, or you feel your post may push these boundaries, contact a staff member before posting and we'll solve the problem.

3. Please make sure that your signature is not taller than three hundred pixels or wider than five hundred pixels, and that it is not excessively hard for the system to load. This rule exists because these signatures may be awkward to scroll past, may break formatting, or may make the site unusable or very difficult to use on old computers or bad Internet connections. We do not enforce a specific filesize limit, but will react to complaints of lag by contacting you about the matter and asking you to change your signature. If you have content that you want to put in your signature that would put it over this limit, you can use "spoiler" tags.

4. While RPing, follow proper conventions and standards. In general, this means you should control only your characters, keep your characters' abilities within reasonable limits dictated by the setting, use proper English, respect the GM's rules and ideas, not usurp the GM's authority, respect other players, and have fun. For specifics, talk to the appropriate GM first, or a staff member if it's a general question. Consult this thread for general pointers.

5. As representatives of the community, staff and GMs will be held very strongly to the spirit of these rules. Staff must remain friendly and approachable, use their powers judiciously, avoid undue bias, steer clear of personal conflicts or rivalries, and act as role models for other members.

Those are our rules. Follow them and everything should be just fine. However, for legal purposes or further elaboration, more information is contained below. None of it is necessary for you to enjoy your experience on the Frontier.

• RPG Frontier is bound by American Federal law and the laws of the State of Texas, because we are hosted near Dallas, Texas. Expect most other Western law to be respected also, if the issue comes up.
  
• RPG Frontier cooperates with all law enforcement requests issued in a legitimate way. We really don't expect this to ever come up, but you have to be ready.
  
• RPG Frontier obeys copyright law and will comply with all legitimate removal requests.
  
• For purposes of our discrimination policy, the following attributes are covered at a minimum: race, colour, nationality, biological sex, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, ability or disability, and age.
  
• Our content policy strictly prohibits sex scenes and anything illegal. Anything else may or may not be allowed based on artistic justification and objectionability.
