Exactly two years and a day ago, with next to nothing working for us, Pyth, Vith and I founded what you now have all come to know. In that time, we've reorganized at least three times, made new edicts at least fifteen times, blamed Pyth at least twice, and run around the block at least once. We also have come to know and respect our community of active players, have gained well in excess of 14,000 posts, have one RP that has been with us since the start of the site, and more. To come this far is a milestone for most sites, as there are more sites then I can recall who have never made it past their two year marker. It is something that, for some unexplained reason, seems to plague the RP community of the internet. However, the Frontier is still going strong, and it is my hope and belief that we are nowhere near our maximum potentials yet. Let's get more of these excellent creative juices flowing, and we can make it at least another two years, if not certainly longer.

I have to ashamedly admit that there have been times at which I was ready to, at the very least, kill Pyth (And possibly Vith a few times in there somewhere...). However, I realize that through our differences that everyone here at the Frontier makes us what we are. Without all of our players, we would have - well, not only no players - no direction. It is thanks to all of you who come and support the site with your time and posts that we have made it this far. I want to thank each and every one of you for helping us to be all that we can be for you.

I am going to say that our upgrade into IPB 3.2, when it comes, will be yet another "reorganization" of sorts. While very little will be moved in terms of forum structure from what we have now (unless something drastically changes), I can safely say at this point that it might knock some people here on the Frontier for a loop or two. Now, allow me to explain a few things about why the decision to change came about. This isn't some arbitrary "oh, let's change the names of everything to see how the members react". It also isn't the whole, "Let's just change the names of everything to get rid of our current members", as some of you might think. For a long while now, we have felt that the current setup may send the message that the RPG Frontier is exclusive or "elite" in some way. After all, our current group names have really nothing to do with Roleplaying, and more with military command. That being said, the renames for the groups at this point is more inline with what we - that is to say Pyth, Vithar, and myself - are to the point at which we are comfortable with them. They remove the overly critical bearing group names, and remove pretty much most semblance to the "This group is over this group is over this group" kind of feel to the current system. Thusly, the group renames in 3.2 are made to be humorous as well as practical.

Secondly, as some people have already seen or heard about the renames of different forum areas for the 3.2 update, I must speak about them here. I can, at this point, guarantee that the name themes from our current version to the 3.2 version of the site will shift from Sci-Fi nomenclature into Fantasy. The reasoning here is multifold. The main reason is because, although we've used it now for two years, we find that certain parts of it simply do not sit well. For instance -the Hosting Offices- for which we could not find a decent Sci-Fi name to go with it (at this point, at least). The second reason is, we've used it for two years. We feel that the site needs a bit of refreshing and new ideas, and the new names simply fit in with this. While this part doesn't necessarily explain why the sudden shift from the Sci-Fi to the Fantasy, it certainly shouldn't hurt anything. Thirdly, we tried renaming it as we did the groups - to Roleplaying based terms. Vithar and I tried out terms such as the "GM's Kitchen" for the Cantina, and it just seemed very cheesy (forgive the pun). While we have no real definitive answer to give you at this point, we feel that this will help invigorate some new ideas into the Frontier.

Indeed, 2 years is a long time, but we have many years more.

Two years and one day to the day that I joined the site... I remember that Revora topic filling up like crazy, and sixteen people registering in the space of a couple minutes. I was number 4 (no relation to the movie). Alas, most of the old crowd is gone now... but I'm glad that we've had new blood to aid our prolific post count.

Here's to two years of RPGF!

What a road we've travelled. Hard to believe that most of that post count was just ten or twelve of us.

About two years and two days since I joined...As number two.

Heh. So much has changed in those two years...

Great. I'm rambling. Online. In text.

Apparently I joined July 24, 2009... so that's about 2 years ago for myself. I have no idea what number I was, but then I suppose that doesn't matter.

Its been fun being here, and I hope for much more along the way. ;D

A good milestone instead. A toast to our success, and with good luck and hard work, may we continue for another two years to come. ^.^

(( Yes, I'm aware of the chances of this happening, but alas, it must be wished. ))

I know I haven't been here as long as a lot of you old veterens, but I've nearly been here two years as well, and yeah, this site's awesome (that's why I'm still here, duh).  RPGF is one of the only sites where just about every member is legitimately awesome at RPing.

Cheers for RPGF!
