"Wait..." said Kaethe slowly. Her eyes grew panicky. "You can't possibly want us to... run through that tunnel?" She noticed that Anikus had the concentration characteristic of telepathy, and her voice rose. "What are you doing? Calling the Reavers down here? No! I won't go! I won't! I refuse to--"
Telchi swiftly jabbed a spot at the base of Kaethe's neck and she crumpled to the floor. He caught her before we hit it. "Let's not all panic now," he said with admirable calmness. "We'll just get through this tunnel, and everything will be fine." I hope. He slung the unconscious thief over his shoulder. "On your signal, Anikus."

Alec breathed deeply, "Anikus.... we had better get out of here alive."
Ria looked at Alec, Are you sure this is a good idea... you seem REALLY mad at Anikus. He doesn't have much of a choice... none of us do. THough I think he is a little mad and needs some help in chosing missions that are less... life threatening.
Alec looked incredulous.Really?! He is MAD insane, needs to be locked up! If we don't get out of here alive and get you safe I will....
You'll do what? We will all be dead and won't care. I will be fine Alec, I know you are worried but trust me I am much stronger than you think. Remember I was trained well. I have a few tricks up my sleeve.
Alec merely grunted, "Alright fine, lets get moving the sooner we get out of this hell hole the better."

Thalmir stood before the long hallway before them. He started to finally question everything he had done with these men up until then. He joined originally to see the world, to go upon a grand adventure. He never signed up to travel to remote islands just to deal with sea sickness, defiling an old friends grave site, and to have the only objective be a mere trinket for ones greedy self. Anger boiled inside of him. He was wounded, weary, and lost something precious to him. His hands clenched into fists, eyes narrowed and menacing from beneath his hood. As he looked at the red garbed scholar, he could help but feel the intense urge to inflict some kind of pain upon him... but he stayed his hand.
It wasn't a feeling of pity, nor the remote feeling that everyone was in the same boat as he. What stayed his fist from the skull of the one leading them, was a feeling of honor. He chose himself to follow this man, albeit into the clutches of death most likely. Only this man, though crazed and selfish, would be able to have them escape. However, Thalmir vowed it upon himself to one day give the scholar a hard punch to the head as repayment for this hopefully short spell of misery and woe.

Takeshi sat down, leaning against a wall such that he could see up through the hole in the earth. Then, out of his satchel, he took out a whetstone and a silk cloth, and drew his katana.
He examined the blade, seeing a few minor scrathes. Nothing some minor care wouldn't deal with. So he set to it, running the whetstone along the blade. It didn't take more than four sweeps of the whetstone before the blade was done. Pouring some oil onto the silk cloth, he cleaned the blade, giving it a shine, despite the darkness. He carefully sheathed the blade, and folded the cloth, pushing it into a separate pocket.
Sakura did the same with her sword, and restrung her bow, in itself an odd shaped weapon, with the grip lower on the bow than normal.
Takeshi looked up, seeing several of the party staring at them. He answered their unspoken question.
"Oh. Well, it's so routine to us that it's just become a meditation for us now. Sorry if it was odd or anything."

Grimlain peered down the dark tunnel with slight distaste. It didn't look like there was anything good about it, and Anikus seemed to be getting more insane every minute. The idol at the end looked interesting and rather peculiar to Grimlain. He was sure that taking it would lead to some sort of diabolical trap that would trigger some sort of giant boulder that would crush him, or something similar, but it was worth checking out, though he knew no one else wanted to. Grimlain sighed and looked at Anikus, who was preparing to lead the charge.
"This is insane, you know?" he said to the scholar. "I don't care anymore, though. I've gotta die someday, so let's go."
