Alec was overwhelmed by the help everyone was offering. Especially Takeshi, the person he was initially supposed to kill was now his ally. But now that didn't matter, all the money in the world would not turn Alec away. For the first time in a long time Alec felt a fire burning in him, a purpose. He thought that fire was long dead but now he felt hopeful.

"Thank you all for your help. I greatly appreciate it."

"Alec, as much as I want to help you, rushing blindly in after your girl isn't going to win you, or us, anything except swords to the gut. I'd remind you all that they're Corsairs! This is not the time to be rash," the scholar said with an air of finality. "We'll need to keep our wits about us... perhaps the Duncan's submerged prowess is of greater benefit than I thought. If we're all so determined, then... when shall we set off?"

Anikus smiled for various reasons. He'd always wanted to see the Corsair's island, even when he'd fled here... of course, curiosity helped a great lot. Ria's fate was first, and that of the other captives, but perhaps there would be something of value to plunder. Information, especially, would be of great use to the party. All the better to have a good reason to go there.

His mind's gears ground themselves to a fine metallic dust. The typical approach they'd used thus far of facing enemies down with fire and swordsmanship simply wouldn't work in the Corsairs' domain; stealth was a necessity, a quick landing, and camouflage. He knew some illusionary magic, even influence spells to a degree, but with no maps to go on inside the base, it would be quite the escapade.

"Let us prepare for the voyage ahead... everyone, follow me to the Duncan. We stand a good chance of following the Corsairs to their base, and the shorter those captives are there, the better off they'll be."

Alec grinned, "I can help with the stealth part, I have a good control of illusion magic."

((Short post I know))
